Godfrey & Wing Sponsors Aurora Robotics First Lego League

2 Minute Read

Godfrey & Wing, located in Aurora, is sponsoring the Aurora Robotics First Lego League, an exciting and fun robotics program that ignites an enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering and math in children ages 9-14.

Every year a new challenge theme is given to all Lego League teams to compete with each other. The students research and solve real-world problems based on the challenge theme, present their research and solutions, and build an autonomous robot using engineering concepts. This year the challenge theme is SENIOR SOLUTIONSSM.

According to the FIRST LEGO League website (www.usfirst.org), students will be challenged to “improve the quality of life for seniors by helping them continue to be independent, engaged, and connected to their communities.” Students will learn about the aging process, will research what types of challenges senior citizens face, what type of innovations could help make their lives easier and then develop solutions to improve the quality of life of the senior citizens who are affected.

Godfrey & Wing’s sponsorship will help provide the team with t-shirts, presentation materials, additional Lego parts and offset travel expenses.
